News : Jakarta Taglibs Update
	December 13, 2000 The Jakarta Taglibs Project has recently been overhauled with individual pages for each tag library and online documentation. There are also five new tag libraries. BSF Taglib - The Bean Scripting Framework is integrates scripting languages such as JavaScript, VBScript, Perl, Tcl, Python, NetRexx and Rexx. DateTime Taglib - Tags for date and time related functions such as formatting, parsing from form input, using time zones and localization. Input Taglib - Generates HTML form elements that preset their values from the ServletRequest. JSP Spec Taglib - Working examples of the tags described in the JavaServerPages specification, Version 1.1. Rexexp Taglib - Tags which can be used to perform Perl syntax regular expressions. Request Taglib - Tags which can be used to access all the information about the HTTP request for a JSP page. Response Taglib - Tags which can be used to set all the information for an HTTP response for a JSP page. Session Taglib - Tags for reading or modifying client HttpSession information. SQL Taglib - Implementation of the SQL tags discussed in Section A.2.1 and A.2.2 of the JavaServer Pages 1.1 Specification. Utility Taglib - Examples of some basic tags. It illustrates several custom tag library code techniques. XSL Taglib - Tags to process XML documents with an XSL stylesheet and insert it in place.

	News : Coldjava Bar Charts Tag Library 1.1
	December 13, 2000 A new Bar Chart Tag Library has been released by Coldjava. Bar Charts 1.1 generates horizontal or vertical bar charts from a single JSP tag.

	News : Tomcat 3.2 Final Released
	November 30, 2000 The most anticipated release from the Jakarta project yet! We hereby announce the availability of the final release of version 3.2 of the Tomcat servlet container and JSP engine. Tomcat implements the Servlet 2.2 and JSP 1.1 specifications, and represents the most current release quality build of this project.

	News : Expresso Framework 2.12 Released
	November 28, 2000 A new release 2.12 is now available for the open source Expresso Framework at www.javacorporate.com for download (as a .war). Recent releases have focused on enhancing support for J2EE. Expresso offers a strong, active developer community, more than 2100 users on its listserv and has more than 25,000 downloads. It offers a comprehensive connection pooling component, as well as user authentication, security, access to databases, email connectivity, job control, health check, logging, event notification, database objects, configuration values, EJB/J2EE integration, XML import/export, and access to other server-side components.

	News : Woolox Chart Library Early Access Release 1
	November 13, 2000 The Woolox Chart library is a collection of custom JSP 1.1 tags, and a class library for dynamic chart generation. It can produce several chart images, to be used in HTML and WML pages. Using its powerful data and chart APIs, it can also be used in applets (with a Java2 plugin) and applications. The Woolox Chart can produce e.g. PNG, JPEG, BMP, WBMP image formats and use XML and SQL datasources. More information and EA1 version from http://www.woolox.com/chart/
